The 3 portals were built as stud walls and faced with OSB plywood as per the designers request to add natural texture to the walls.

Stars
The method of wiring of the stars was based on a previous project I worked on but with 60w incandescent light bulbs. For this project we didn’t have the power capabilities or dimmers for 100+ lightbulbs. Because of this I used small LED diodes and wired them to 4 channel LED Controllers. In order to conserve resources we wired 4 LED diodes to 1 channel having 16 LEDs per LED Controller. The 4 LEDs that were on a single channel were strategically placed to look like a natural twinkling of stars pattern dispersed on the 3 portals.
Lightbox
In order to achieve the most saturated version of the Lightbox I built a 2x4 frame and stretched Glowup Rear Projection Screen fabric on the frame. to light the inside I lined the 2x4 frame with 3 rows of LED Tape. To contain the light and assist in bouncing the light forward I backed the Lightbox with white painted lauan.
